Writing Great Goals

Writing good goals is a great first step toward completing them.  Here are some best practices to keep in mind when creating your goals:

  • Begin with a verb

  • Goals should be concise - 5 to 7 words and action-oriented

  • Each goal should be written and scoped to be completed within a month

  • If you’re using lag measures, write it in terms of X to Y by When

  • Keep it simple!

As you create a new goal in Kapta, keep these things in mind:

  • Link your goals to parent objectives - this builds alignment with your work and your company's strategic objectives.

  • Each goal must have an owner, and can only have one owner.
